Houston – A lawsuit has been filed against Houston Methodist regarding its mandate that “Requires company employees to get trial vaccines as a condition of employment,” according to attorney Jared R. Woodfill.
Woodfill said he represented the 117 workers included in the suit.
The lawsuit is the first in US history. where employers force employees to vaccinate “By injecting the COVID-19 gene in an experimental way” or being fired.
“The Methodist Hospital is forcing its staff to be human ‘guinea pigs’ as a condition for continued employment,” the lawsuit said.
Woodfill states that employees should be free to choose vaccines without “coercion, deception, fraud, harassment, solicitation, or any binding or coercion.” He said the mandate violates the Nuremberg Code and state public policy. Texas

As of today, 99 percent of Houston Methodist’s 26,000 employees have met the requirements for the vaccination mandate. We are extremely proud that our employees are doing the right thing and protecting our patients from this deadly virus. As a healthcare worker It is our sacred obligation to do all we can to protect our patients. They are the most vulnerable groups in our community. It is our duty and privilege.
Unfortunately, the few remaining employees who refused to be vaccinated and put our patients first responded in this way. It is legal for health care institutions to mandate vaccines. As we have done with the flu vaccine since 2009, the COVID-19 vaccine It has been proven through rigorous testing to be very safe and effective. And untested, more than 165 million people in the United States alone have been vaccinated against COVID-19, and this has resulted in the fewest infections in our country and the Houston region in more than a year.
