The 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLS 450 4MATIC comes with a slew of modifications that give the coupe-inspired sedan an updated look and refined technology. Sales in the United States started in early 2022, and the company has yet to discuss pricing.
The 2022 CLS now comes with an AMG Line-style package on the outside, which includes different rims and a few shiny black rims. The sedan wears a revamped front bumper with a more fluid design for the lower nameplate entryway, and the front splitter is now chrome. The modified grille receives a three-dimensional star pattern of Mercedes-Benz With a chrome mirror finish, clear LED headlights on the outer corners instead of the amber on current models At the back there is a trapezoidal chrome exhaust tip. The simulated diffuser will run between the pipes.
Starling Blue Metallic has changed to exterior paint. It also features a new five-spoke, dual and multi-spoke design for 19-inch wheels.The 20-inch parts are available in Tremolite Gray or High-Gloss Black color options.
By 2022, the CLS has a customized steering wheel with capacitive sensors for controlling the vehicle’s features and with Nappa leather upholstery. Magma Gray and Sienna Brown / Black are new leather upholstery options.
The CLS 450 is equipped with a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 with a soft hybrid system for a built-in starter. The combustion engine produces 362 horsepower (270 kW) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm), the starter generator can handle a maximum torque of 21 hp (16 kW) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm). The transmission will run through a nine-speed automatic to the all-wheel drive system.
Mercedes’ change announcement only addresses the CLS 450 4MATIC when asked about other variants, the company said. Motor1.com: “The 2022 facelift will be available exclusively in the US as the CLS 450 4MATIC.”
