2nd shot in Frederick, Maryland; Suspect Killed in Fort Detrick – NBC4 Washington



Navy hospital officers were mortally wounded, two at the park office in Frederick, Maryland, on Tuesday, then went to Fort Detrick, where he was shot dead by officers there.

The 38-year-old gunman shot two men at a business in Riverside Tech Park in Progress Drive’s block 8400, Frederick officials said.They did not name the businesses and it was not clear if the shooting took place inside or out.

There were no immediate disclosures about the relationship between the suspect and the victim.

“One of the injured victims came to our facility for help and we were able to assist and call the authorities,” said Mutschler, based in New York.

Several roads in the area were closed.

Many Frederick County public schools were “Temporarily closed,” the district said in a tweet. “All students and staff are safe. The blocking has been lifted, ”an FCPS official said.

Frederick Community College sent a lockout notice, and then issued a clear statement that all “no harassment on the FCC campus”, the school said in a tweet.
