San antonio –San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Judge Bexar County Nelson Wolff updated the community about local response to COVID-19 at a Monday night briefing.
Nirenberg reported a total of 221,178 COVID-19 cases and a total of 3,433 deaths in Bexar County, an increase of 231 new deaths as of Monday.There were no new deaths reported today.
The 7-day continuous average is 161.
City officials also reported that 171 patients were hospitalized, 52 in intensive care units and 26 in ventilators. There are beds for 11% of staff and 71% of ventilators.
Nirenberg said 969,499 people received at least one dose of the vaccine and 749,957 were fully vaccinated.
Assistant City Manager Dr Colleen Bridger said the Fiesta will operate at 100% capacity after officials have considered the COVID-19 metrics and protocols. Complete vaccine However, they will be encouraged during crowded events.
Starting Monday, May 24, the times and dates for people to receive the vaccine at the Alamodome drive-thru clinic, either through appointment or walk-in, will be changed from noon to 8:00 pm on Wednesday through Friday.
Alamodome drive-thru clinics are currently open from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.
