SINGAPORE – An elderly gardener who works in a condominium offers a boy to live there for $ 2 to buy ice cream and ask him to meet later at the barbecue pit.

Although the boy turned down his offer, Tok Chon Chey, 74, did not deter. The man carried the boy to the side after meeting him in the condominium two days later. He then asked the boy to perform sexual acts on him.

Tok was sentenced to one year and nine months in prison on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a person under the age of 1

4 and procuring indecent acts from a boy. Another charge of aggravated assault was taken into account at his trial.

A nine year old boy could not be named to protect his identity.

The court heard the boy had known Tok Tok for at least two years because he would see the man caring for the tree when he returned from kindergarten.

On March 21, 2019, the boy met Tteok sitting in a chair. Tok offers the boy $ 2 to buy ice cream and asks him to be met later at the barbecue pit. The victim did not take the money and did not come to see Tok.

Two days later, the boy and his sister left the house to play at the condominium playground in the morning. Then they went home to drink some water before going on a bike ride.

Tok was in the area and asked the children to come to him. The boy’s sister returned home without suspicion of anything wrong.

Tok then picked the boy up on his lap and kissed him on the lips.

A female witness was walking near the side door when she saw the confrontation. She remembers both the boy and the Tok. The witness leaves the condominium. But came back as she felt uncomfortable with what she saw

At the same time Tok asked the boy to stand and touch the crotch of the boy. Deok unzips his pants and asks the boy to rape him. When the witness arrived, she saw the boy facing the man and touched the man’s genitals.

She asked Tok if he thought things were right. Tok dressed up and began begging the woman not to report the matter. The witness replied that he had to be reported. She walked to the security post. With the boy begged her before walking away.

Witnesses told security personnel what happened and the victim’s parents were contacted. The boy’s father reported to the police. Later, the police arrested Mr. Tok.

Past Conviction with Young Boy: Prosecution

Tok was jailed six months after being sentenced in 2013 for sex with an 11-year-old boy.He molested the boy over his underwear and kissed the boy on his lips. While the two were later lifting the HDB blog, Tok kissed the boy once more.

Deputy Attorney General (DPP) Nicholas Lai noted that in his most recent offense, Tok had taken a step further to ask the boys to perform sexual acts against him.

“In the current case, the accused offered the victim to buy $ 2 worth of ice cream, even if the victim had no intention of meeting him. Selling two dollar pieces of ice cream, whether it leads to fruition or not, that’s a court hearing, ”DPP Lai said.

Tok’s lawyer, Benjamin Li, pointed out that there was no perverted trust and that contact with the boy Tok had vanished.

“Because (he was) advanced 74, a lengthy detention sentence would be crushed, he could have died in Changi, so the defendant would only accept 12 months in prison as he was older,” Li added.

For providing child pornography, Tok can face up to five years in prison and / or a fine of up to $ 10,000 for a first conviction. For molesting a person under the age of 14, he may be imprisoned for up to five years and / or fined he cannot be raised because he is over 50.
