New York (CBSNewYork) – The New York Knicks announced Thursday afternoon that the organization had investigated a video of a fan who appeared to spit on the Atlanta Hawks Guard Trae Young in Wednesday night’s Game 2, the team said in a statement that fans had spat on the young man. “We investigated this and determined that this patron, not a season ticket holder, spat on Trae Young and as a result, he is now indefinitely banned from entering the park. We apologize. Trae and the entire Atlanta Hawks organization for this fan behavior, this is completely unacceptable and will not be accepted at our facility. We have sent the information to the appropriate authorities, ”said Knicks.
The team’s statement follows the NBA’s mention of fan behavior in the arena, stating that “improved” fan ethics will be strictly enforced from now on.
“The return of more NBA fans to our arena has brought excitement and energy to the start of the playoffs. But it is important that all of us show respect to our players, staff and fellow fans.The improved fan ethics will be taken seriously to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all. People involved, ”the league said.
