A 13-year-old girl was found dead in Florida earlier this month. Allegedly stabbed 114 by her 14-year-old classmate, according to authorities.
RJ Larizza, Florida Attorney, Round 7 said at a press conference This week, Aiden Fucci’s alleged attack on Tristyn Bailey was “premeditated”.
“Every time that arm retreats And every time that arm goes down That is premeditated,” he said.
Fucci, who is currently on trial as an adult. He was initially charged with second-degree murder on Thursday. Although it was elevated to a first-degree murder Friday morning, the St. Augustine Record reports.
Larizza said at a news conference at St. Johns County Court that the county medical examiner found while conducting Bailey̵7;s autopsy that “at least 49 stab wounds were to the hands, arms and head,” adding that “They are protected in nature.”
“The most important thing is that pre-meditation can be deduced from the number of stab wounds Tristyn Bailey suffered,” the lawyer argued.
Larizza said Fucci in the weeks before Bailey’s death told his friends that he “Intended to kill someone by taking them into the forest and stabbing them.”
Initial arrest reports said Bailey’s body was found in a wooded area in northeast Florida’s St. Johns County on Mother’s Day. Which is less than half a mile from Fucci’s house.
Her body was found about eight hours after Bailey’s family reported her disappearance to police.
The official said Investigators have gathered a large amount of evidence pointing them to Fucci. Including the suspected weapon used to kill the girl and Bailey’s DNA found in Fucci’s bedroom shoes and t-shirt.
Larissa said: “I am not happy to charge a 14-year-old as an adult with first-degree murder.”
“But I can also tell you that the management team and I reviewed all the facts. the whole situation Governing Law And it is not a difficult decision to determine whether he should be charged as an adult,” he added.
“It was a sad decision and a sad situation. But it became clear to us after we looked at what had happened that it was not only appropriate to charge the defendant as an adult. But it’s the only option we can really make. Larissa told reporters.
Fucci appeared before the judge Friday morning on the upgrade charge and was ordered to detain without bond.
Although Fucci may face life in prison. But he was not entitled to the death penalty. due to his age
WJXT, a local CW affiliate, reported that Fucci’s defense attorneys did not oppose the judge’s order to arrest the 14-year-old without parole. But it said an insurance claim might be filed at a later date.
