Las Vegas (KLAS) – A transgender woman was crowned Miss Nevada USA at South Point Hotel Casino & Spa on Sunday, the first and historic moment in pageant history. 27-year-old Kataluna Enriquez will compete for the title of Miss USA in November.

Kataluna competes with 21 other women this weekend. She was crowned Miss Silver State USA in March. which is a pioneer of Miss Nevada USA
In a post on Instagram, she wrote in part: “Thank you so much to everyone who supported me from day one, my community, you are always in my heart. My victory is our victory. We just made history Happy, proud.”
