Two requirements were added to Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre’s WWE Championship at Hell in a Cell.
During a signing session on Raw tonight, it was announced that Lashley and McIntyre at Hell in a Cell will be a Hell in a Cell match. The match also stipulated that – if McIntyre loses – he won’t be able to challenge for the championship. WWE again while Lashley remains the champion.
The latter requirement was proposed by Lashley, McIntyre accepted and said he wanted their match to take place in hell in a cell so that there would be no outside interference.
McIntyre became the number one contender in Lashley’s WWE Championship by defeating Kofi Kingston in Raw last week. Number one opponents McIntyre and Kingston’s match took place the week before, but Lashley and MVP ended it without a match by attacking both.
Lashley has been a WWE champion since beating The Miz to win the title this March. In the storyline, Miz and Lashley struck a deal wherein Lashley was named to help Miz cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. McIntyre
Lashley retained the WWE Championship by defeating McIntyre at WrestleMania 37 in April. At WrestleMania Backlash Lashley defeated Braun Strowman and McIntyre in three matches to retain the title. Lashley pinned Strowman to win that tournament.
This is the first Hell in a Cell tournament scheduled for this year̵7;s pay-per-view Hell in a Cell. The event will be held on Sunday, June 20.
