Bitcoin fell 5.16% to $33,849.47 by 6:00 PM GMT on Saturday, losing $1,842.99 from the previous close.
Ether, the coin linked to the ethereum blockchain network, fell 6.26% to $2,262.06 on Saturday, losing $151.11 from the previous close.
Bitcoin, the largest and best known cryptocurrency in the world, fell 47.8 percent from its annual high of $64,895.22 on April 14.
There has been less volatility in the past week. But losses this month were heavy at 38%, driven by increasing regulatory pressure on the sector. It is trading at levels last seen in January and at about half the highest value.
