California officials have added Florida and four other states to the list of places where the state bans travel funded by laws alleging discrimination against LGBTQ individuals.

The new state’s travel ban goes into effect July 1 for Florida and Montana, July 8 for West Virginia, July 29 for Arkansas, and August 1 for North Dakota.
California law has exceptions for certain trips, such as those required to enforce state law. And to honor the contracts signed before the state was added to the list. Out-of-state meetings or training trips are examples of travel that can be blocked.
It is unclear how the California travel ban will affect Bonta. or the financial implications of California’s travel ban in those states.
