Cardi B received his first lead role in a movie. The hip-hop icon is set to star in Paramount’s new film Assisted Living.
“Assisted Living” has been described as a “bad joke” with “big heart” in classic comedies such as “Tootsie,” “Sister Act” and “Mrs. Doubtfire”. Cardibi), a little short-haired kid who finds himself overhead when the robbery goes wrong. In her escape from the police and her former crew, she struggles to find a place to hide. Running out of options, Amber disguises herself as an elderly woman and hides in the only place no one cares about – the estranged grandmother’s nursing home.
Paramount acquired the rights to “Assisted Living” in the spring 2019 bidding war. The film, based on the original script by Kay Oyegun, the writer of “This Is Us,” Temple Hill and Stephen Love, is producing.
Cardi B, the Grammy Award-winning artist behind hits such as “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” and “WAP,” made her feature film debut opposite Jennifer Lopez, Constance Vu, and Keg Palmer in “Hustlers,” the 2019 crime drama about a dancer who flips the table for wealthy Wall Street clients. She also has a role in “F9,” which is the next entry in Universal’s “Fast & Furious” franchise.
Rap Titan got her start on the VH1 reality show “Love and Hip-Hop,” where she appeared in 2015 to 2017.Her first album, “Invasion of Privacy,” was released in 2018 and was certified trip-level. Platinum
On the television front, Cardi B serves as the judge for Netflix’s un-captioned song competition series “Rhythm + Flow.” Cardi, which is also headline series Chance the Rapper, and TI is also executive producer.
