Chris Lane and Lauren Bushnell Lane welcomed their first child, son Dutton Walker Lane, on Tuesday, June 8, in Nashville, Tennessee, they confirmed to PEOPLE only.
Born at 11:12 a.m., Dutton weighs 9 pounds and measures 19.5 inches long.
“Everyone in the room, including Lauren and I, was shocked that we had a 9-pound child! I’m not sure where he is hiding in her stomach!” The 36-year-old luk thung singer teases the crowd, to be more serious. “Watching Lauren go through the process of giving birth – from the very beginning to the moment she gave birth – was the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen. I felt an emotion that I had never felt before.”
Lauren, 31, added: “I have never felt an immediate, unconditional love like I now have for Dutton. And having this experience with Chris made me love and appreciate him even more … I didn’t think it was possible!”

And just like his hit song “Big, Big Plans” was written to propose. Chris has also written a new song for his newborn son.
“I’ve been waiting to meet Dutton for nine months. And the easiest way for me to personally describe my feelings and emotions is to write about it! very natural I wrote a song,” he told People. “It’s called ‘Ain’t even Met You Yet’ and it sums up how I’ve been feeling over the past few months. I can’t wait to share it with him one day.”
The couple announced the news of their pregnancy in December, sharing a video of the baby’s ultrasound on Instagram. But now it feels even more real when I see the ultrasound and hear my heartbeat,” she specifically told the crowd at the time. “We just soaked it in!”

The former reality star documented her pregnancy journey on Instagram, sharing baby pictures on the way. and open up about not comparing her progress with other mothers.
“Pregnancy is amazing! A word of caution, don’t compare yourself to others.” Bachelor’s degree Alum wrote on Instagram in February. “This is my belly. But everyone looks different! I have compared myself to friends who live nearby or have been pregnant before. and worried that my belly or baby might be too big for my pregnancy. And because it’s my first time.”
“But I have to remind myself that everyone is different. Everyone’s body is not the same. And every baby is different. But everyone is so beautiful!” Lauren added.
In a straightforward New Year’s blog post, Lauren recalls, “We didn’t spend a lot of time. The whole process really opened my eyes. to the battles faced by many women and families.”
“On October 25, 2019, Kris and I got married. Although we are excited to have a family. But we decided that we wanted to spend time together happily before trying. [a] Darling,” she wrote, noting that she stopped birth control in March 2020. “I don’t always feel rushed. But it was something we both wanted and felt very ready for.”
However, “after four to five months of trying,” Lauren wrote, “Anxiety started to pop into my head.”
“I couldn’t help but compare my situation with my friends as it happened so easily. It’s mostly unplanned for time. Psychologically, this is the really hard part. of the journey,” she recalls. “I’m not sure if anyone else has experienced this. but as a woman I think there’s something wrong with me. Chris will see how disappointed and worried I am. And I can tell that he really felt bad.”
“And even trying to conceive depends on the woman. I just want to take a moment to acknowledge the impact on my husband as well. i thank chris so much He is an eternal optimist. And I really appreciated his faith. He really was my rock. through an emotional roller coaster,” she added.

since july Lauren said she started using ovulation strips and at-home progesterone tests. and in September The couple received the good news they had been waiting for.
“As I write this I am incredibly grateful to be pregnant. but at the same time I just can’t stop thinking about all the women out there who have had to fight longer than I’ve ever done. and are facing infertility and pregnancy loss,” she added.
“Pregnancy is truly a miracle. and i will never forget We have prayed every day for months and apparently our prayers have been answered. But I know there are a lot of unanswered prayers out there,” Lauren said. “So many women who are quietly struggling and I am thinking of all of you. I pray for hope and peace for all who read this struggle. Miracles happen every day.”
