Princeton and Farmersville Fire Brigade Collin County Emergency Services and several other local law enforcement agencies were at the scene. It was reported around 4 p.m. in the area of Farm to Market Road 2756 near Highway 78.
According to Farmersville Police Chief, the person involved in the explosion was an Atmos Energy contractor, not an actual Atmos employee, who was serving the local gas pipeline when the explosion occurred.
At this time it was unclear what caused the explosion.
Officials have asked drivers to avoid the area.
