Staff at Cox South Hospital began treating 14 patients Tuesday evening. Hospitals will not transfer COVID-19 patients to other healthcare facilities. But the system accepted two transfers from non-CoxHealth facilities earlier on Tuesday, June 29.
But variable status can change often depending on the burden of COVID-1
9 patients.The hospital warned the community about this possibility earlier this month. After the hospitalization began to increase again.
System posted on June 18:

Meanwhile, BJC HealthCare in St. Louis tells us it is treating 19 patients from outside the St. Louis region. including four from the Springfield area.”
