Canada was hired ahead of the 2020 season to coach the Steelers’ quarterback as his first NFL job after several stints as the college’s offensive coordinator with Pitt, LSU, NC State and Maryland
Canadian influence on Pittsburgh’s offense is evident. Their movement rate soared to the top ten and his coaching seemed to have a positive effect on Mason Rudolph, who developed alone at the start of 2020.
Pairing Canada with Tua Tagovailoa would be a sensible move for the organization. On Thursday, the Steelers announced they are parting ways with OC Randy Fichtner, who has been in the role since 2018.Canada is expected to replace Fichtner, although the team will go on to outsource.
