Draymond Green unexpectedly left half of the DPOY ballot.

Steph Curry didn’t win MVP, but voters can still properly acknowledge the stunning season the Warriors defender has had.

They did not do the same with Draymond Green in voting for the Player of the Year.

The NBA announced Wednesday that Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has been named the 2021 Defensive Player of the Year, the third time he’s won. No wonder Gobert expected an inevitable win. And did it with a total of 464 votes.

However, what was surprising was that First vote distribution and especially Green didn’t even get it once.

Of the 16 first-place votes that didn’t go to Gobert, 15 went from Philadelphia 76ers to Ben Simmons, who ultimately came in second in the voting. A total of 287 points, the first remaining vote alone went to Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo, who finished fourth in the voting with 31 points.

Green came in third with 76 points, which seems too few considering his defensive greatness throughout the season. He received 13 second-place votes and 37 third-place votes, meaning a 50 percent prudent vote disqualifies Green entirely.

I’m sorry, but it’s awful. The Warriors have the 5th best defense in the NBA this season, which is an incredible feat as Klay Thompson missed them all and they have a 19-year-old striker who is limited to 39 games. The Warriors can’t. It’s even close to being a Top Five without Green playing like he’s been playing all night.

Yes, Kerry is the invader. But Green can criticize the ball on the other side as well.

While the Simmons vote over Green is understandable, But the total score wasn’t much different. For one, two of Simmons’ teammates also received votes. This should have served to separate Green from him and the rest of the group, and second, not a single player who voted below Green deserved his vote.

If Green doesn’t have half of the ballot (!) left, there’s a good chance the vote will be more accurately recognized how phenomenal he is. awardee But knowing Green It will make a difference in his mindset next season.
