U.S. Representative Elise Stefanik, RN.Y. announced Saturday that she was pregnant with her first child.
The New York Republican, who replaced Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., as the party’s meeting chair last month. shared the news on her Instagram page with a photo of her – with husband Matt Manda holding her baby.
“We are delighted to announce that this small family Our two children will soon be three,” Stephanic, 36, captioned the photo. “We are so excited to share that we are expecting a baby this fall. And we can’t wait to find our precious happiness.
“Thank you for the warm blessings and prayers from so many people, we are really happy,” she added, signing “Elise and Matt.”

The couple got married in 2017.
Several Republican politicians congratulated the pair on the news.
“Congratulations! Win both!! Being a mother is the best job in the world!” wrote Sarah Huckabee Sanders, former White House secretary-general. Sanders had three young children himself.

Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy of California and U.S. Representative Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, Jason Smith of Missouri and Larry Bucshon of Indiana were among others who left goodwill in Stefanik’s post.
