The total number of billionaires on Forbes’ list rose 660 last year to 2,755 people, totaling $ 13.1 trillion, up from $ 8 trillion on the 2020 list, roughly 86% of the billionaires. All are richer than last year.

The United States leads its partners with 742 billionaires, but China is closing the gap with 698 billionaires, including 71 from Hong Kong and one from Macau. India is the third most billionaire with a total of 140.

Entry to the list is a record 493 new arrivals, including 210 from China and Hong Kong and 98 from the United States. The richest newcomer is Miriam Adelson ($ 38.2 billion), the widow of casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, who died in January. Approximately 106 members of the list are under the age of 40, two thirds of which are self-made.

The youngest billionaire on the list is 18-year-old Kevin David Lehmann from Germany, whose father, Guenther Lehmann, has transferred his stake in the drugstore chain dm-drogerie mkt to him, meanwhile, the billionaire. There were 1,975 self-made billionaires, or 72% of the 2021 listings, up from 1,457, or 70% of those in 2020.

The 2021 transaction has been compiled using stock prices and exchange rates since March 5 to calculate its net value.
