Evo 2021 Online Announces Full List and Schedule Open for registration

After being canceled for the first time since its inception last year, the Evolution Championship Series is looking to make a comeback, albeit in a very different format now.

Online have revealed the full schedule for the titles and regions. of jobs around the world Including registration is open for everyone to join.

As previously announced in March There will be four main titles making their way into Evo’s return with Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition, Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate, and Guilty Gear Strive.

Each event appears to start at 12pm local time in North America, Latin America, Asia and Europe.

Currently, all events will begin on August 6, although that may change in the near future as Evo 2021 is scheduled to continue next weekend as well, Aug. 13-16.

Guilty Gear Strive and MK11: Ultimate are only available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions, while Street Fighter 5 is playable on either PlayStation or PC.

Tekken 7 is the only outlier that is only playable in the Steam version.

Registration for these tournaments is entirely free and will last until July 15th, although some games like SF5 and Tekken are split into sub-regions as well — so be careful when you sign up.

Evo 2021 claims to offer a total prize pool of more than $75,000, although no details on how it will be split are given.

This week, Sony also revealed the PlayStation 4 Tournaments of the Evo Community Series, which will feature a selection of fighting game events in July. Includes games like Dragon Ball FighterZ, Granblue Fantasy: Versus, Skullgirls 2nd Encore, Soul Calibur 6, and others.

Moreover, Evo 2021 will host a special Them’s Fightin’ Herds tournament starting July 23rd.

This year marks the first time the Evolution Championship Series will be operated by Sony and its new owner/executive RTS.

The company acquired its biggest fighting game business in March after ousting former organizer Joey “Mr. Wizard” Cuellar over public allegations of sexual misconduct in 2020.

Evo 2021 is scheduled to take place Aug. 6-8 and 13-16, and more information can be found on the event’s Smash.gg registration page.
