The genomic data retrieved for COVID-19 confirmed that the virus had spread long before the outbreak was officially declared.
In a new study conducted by Dr. Jesse Bloom from the Fred Hutchinson Center in Seattle, he found that COVID-19 didn’t come from a wet market in Wuhan, China. He said the jury was still considering whether the virus had spread from animals to humans, however, he noted that there was still missing information that could fill in the gaps.
His assessment comes after doctors recently extracted data from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) database at the request of China, Dr Bloom found that young people’s immune systems recognize and destroy the coronavirus. -19 This can only happen after years of exposure.
Dr Bloom has asked Chinese officials why they asked the NIH to remove the COVID-19 genome data, but he hasn’t received a response from them yet.
