A famous gangster who attacked his then-boyfriend and now husband of former “Real Housewives of New Jersey” member Dina Manzo in exchange for a lavish wedding that was heavily discounted. Sentenced to more than two years in federal prison.
John Perna, 44, of Cedar Grove, New Jersey, must pay $17,816 in restitution as part of a 30-month sentence he received Thursday, according to federal prosecutors.
Perna pleaded guilty last December to violent crimes in aiding fraudulent activity.
Prosecutors accuse Dina’s ex-husband, Thomas Manzo, of hiring Perna to assault his wife’s ex.

Perna is part of the Lucchese family, a criminal group and carried out attacks on members of his team in July 2015, prosecutors said.
A month later, Perna held a wedding for 330 guests at Thomas Manzo’s Brownstone Restaurant in Paterson for a fraction of the price, officials said. Many of the guests were members of the Lucchese criminal family. quote from the prosecutor
Thomas Manzo has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and violent crimes to assist fraudulent activities. He is awaiting trial.

Dina Manzo left the reality series Bravo in 2015 and she married Dave Cantin in June 2017.
