Jun 28 (Reuters) – Germany will try to ban British travelers from the European Union regardless of whether they have received the COVID-19 vaccine, The Times reported on Monday.
The Chancellor of Germany wants England to be “Country of concern”; because the Delta coronavirus is so prevalent. the newspaper stated
The plan will be discussed by senior European and national officials in the EU Integrated Political Crisis Response Committee. and will be opposed by Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Malta and Portugal, the newspaper added.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel is scheduled to meet British Prime Minister Boris Johnson at Checkers next week.
The UK plans to reveal plans next month to allow fully vaccinated people to travel unlimitedly to all countries. Except for those who are at high risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus. Read more
