Google released a Security Update Statement in May 2021 and has also begun rolling out new updates for supported Pixel devices.

The Android security announcement for May 2021 can be found here detailing several security vulnerabilities ranging from moderate to critical severity. One of the most severe vulnerabilities in the Android Framework could allow a malicious application in the area to bypass user interaction requirements to gain access to additional permissions. It also has some issues related to Android Media Framework, Android system and some closed components from vendors like Qualcomm and MediaTek.
As we have seen in the past, many disclosed vulnerabilities do not offer additional documentation explaining what is affected and how the patch fixes this issue.
Pixel Update Bulletin / Functional Update
In addition to providing information about vulnerabilities in general Android security update bulletins, Google has also revealed some of the issues Pixel devices face.The Pixel Update Bulletin highlights a number of moderate issues and seems to affect. Attach Android Kernel components, Qualcomm camera related components, and Qualcomm closed components.
The listings for this month are fairly small and all are moderate. Unlike last month, Google hasn̵7;t highlighted any notable fixes, but we’ll update this post when it becomes available. Last month, Google highlighted issues related to camera quality in third-party apps and optimization for graphics-intensive apps and games.
Google says the May 2021 security update is rolling out at a different stage, depending on your carrier and device, so you may not see the update immediately. The search giant says you should be notified when it’s available.
