Last month, Google Photos appeared to be testing an advanced built-in search filter to make it faster and easier to find photos. Now it looks like a test of this feature is rolling out to some users, meaning everyone will be able to use it soon.
Android Police It’s one of the first to notice additional search filters in the Google Photos app.Obviously, if you want to search for a specific person’s photo, it will display a row of filters below the search box.You can narrow down your media type. Narrow it down to pictures, selfies, animations, screenshots, and more. You can also add multiple people names to find that group photo from the vacation you took.

The new search filters in Google Photos make things a little easier, though. But it doesn̵7;t always mean it’s better. Android Police note:
“It’s worth noting that the search filters didn’t add anything that was previously impossible. For example, typing “My Videos and Atreya in Himachal Pradesh” in the search box will show matching results. However, these new filters feature an intuitive picture interface that boosts Photos’ powerful search capabilities.
A more powerful search feature in Google Photos was first discovered by Jane Manchun Wong.Wong typically revealed new features before its official release, and this time it was no different.
Google Photos has released a number of new features in the past few months, recently introducing an advanced video editor and stricter Google Lens integration. The feature continues to evolve the search giant’s service beyond being just a photo storage facility, although some are placed behind a paywall.
Android Police It said the new search filters are not yet widely available and appear to be part of server-side testing. But it seems that Google Photos users will soon be able to more easily find them.
