Foo Fighters has released their latest single, ‘Waiting On A War.’
The track is the latest to be taken from the group’s tenth studio album, Medicine At Midnight, which is scheduled for a February 5th release.
Dave Grohl, Frontman Foo Fighters, shared a few words about the broader meaning behind the song in a statement that the band made their debut yesterday (Jan. 13).
“As a kid growing up in the suburbs of Washington, DC, I was always afraid of war,” he wrote. “I had nightmares about missiles in the sky and the soldiers in my backyard, mostly due to political tensions of the early decade. 1980 and my acquaintance with the government My youth has been spent under the dark clouds of a hopeless future. ”

Grohl said earlier. NME How did the “sky missile nightmare and the soldiers in my backyard” come about after his daughter asked him in 2019 whether the US was at war with North Korea?
“I was taking my daughter to school and it was a time when the United States and North Korea were increasing tensions with each other and she saw it in the news,” the agency head said.
“She asked me: ‘Daddy, are we going to go to war?’ It reminded me of how I felt when I was your age and I thought: ‘What a boring thing!’
“How depressing it is that childhood may have been stolen from this dark sensation of beauty and innocence. That’s what ‘Waiting On A War’ is about. “
‘Waiting On A War’ follows the previously released song ‘Medicine At Midnight’, ‘Shame Shame’ and ‘No Son Of Mine’.
