One Indiana high school student who survived a car crash that killed two friends on his way to prom said the horrific episode would last him until “the day I died”.
Jaxon Smith sat in the back seat, headed to a Hamilton Heights High School senior prom when he was injured in the wreck of two cars Saturday night in Hamilton County.
“Today I am very fortunate to sit here and I will never forget about it. This will stay with me until the day I die, ”Smith told WHAS.
The accident killed two of his friends, Lendon Byram and Kalen Hart, the store reported.
“They are just good people and they don’t deserve what happened,” Smith told the outlet.
Smith and his girlfriend managed to escape from a shipwreck. But he said he had little memories of the evening.
“I remember a little accident, I remember a sequence of events,” Smith told the store.
“I can’t remember the sequence that led to my mistakes. I don’t remember having taken a photo for prom before. “
Smith said he was grateful that he had made it work out of the accident.
“This is what God,” Smith told the store. “I shouldn’t walk today. I shouldn’t talk to you now, but I am. God has a plan for me. I still don’t know what it is. “
