A fire broke out after an explosion at a steel plant in southeastern Iran. But one official said the fire was under control. and no immediate deaths were reported. Iran’s semi-official news agency said on Sunday.
“Local news sources in the town of Zarand in Kerman province reported a serious explosion and fire at the Zarand Iranian Steel plant,” Fars news agency said on Telegram’s messaging app.
Tasnim news agency quoted the local governor as saying the incident was caused by a leak of molten material.
“The event is under control. There are currently no deaths reported,” the unnamed governor was quoted as saying by Tasnim.
