Emulation community and fan localization It is witnessing an outpouring of memorials and sorrow today following reports of the death of Near, the man behind both the BSNES simulator and the fan translation of the Bahamut Lagoon.
Also known as Byuu Near, spend the weekend. A friend confirmed the report published on social media. but ask for privacy

Re: Near/byuu
SNES emulation is as challenging as few other computer architectures. Opcode interpretation depends on the state of the processor.
The closest comparison I could make: the SNES can change the spoken language at any time.

Last night I heard the unbelievably tragic news. Yesterday we lost the legendary Byuu/Near in our video game archives and scenarios. if you ever play bsnes/higan/Snes9x or countless other emulators, he has contributed to their success.

In a series of messages published on Twitter, Near talked about the online attacks and doxing they and their friends suffered from Kiwi Farms, saying: “The Internet is not a game. it’s real life I’m a real person.”
Near is known for its thorough and complete approach to work. They are particularly passionate about keeping games. and dedicated to the development of BSNES, which was later renamed Higan to be as accurate as possible. Their achievements include overclocking virtual SNES processors without distortion. with amazing results
To commemorate their contribution to the simulation community, Ars Technica published an article from Near that delves into BSNES’s coding and how SNES emulators can get “a few pixels from perfect perfection.” Back in March, Vice Games published the story of Near’s perfectionist quest to localize Bahamut Lagoon, a 16-bit cult RPG that had never been made in North America.
