Kuo: Apple expects to ship 20 million first foldable iPhones in 2023.

Back in March, Trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that Apple was working on the first foldable iPhone expected to be launched in 2023 in a new investor note shared Monday. from 9 to 5MacKuo reinforces rumors of a foldable iPhone, saying the company expects to ship as many as 20 million units in the first year of sales.

According to sources, Kuo said Apple expects to ship between 15 and 20 million foldable iPhones by 2023.The company is likely to work with Samsung as a special supplier of foldable OLED displays for iPhones. New model, design and specifications are not yet known.

In his earlier reports of the first foldable iPhone, analysts predicted that the device would have a screen between 7.5 and 8 inches, and now he adds that Apple will use an 8-inch foldable display, although at present. Samsung will lead the foldable market, but Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple will have an edge over the first iPhone foldable due to its strong “cross-product ecosystem”

At present, the product position of most foldable smartphones combines smartphones and tablets. But we believe the foldable smartphone is just one application of the foldable design. We predict that foldable devices will blur the lineup between smartphones, tablets and laptops in the future. With its cross-product ecosystem and hardware design advantages, Apple will be the biggest winner in the new foldable device trend.

Of course, these plans could change by 2023, but it seems likely that Apple is at least considering launching a foldable iPhone as other phone manufacturers have already introduced their own solutions. Still, we don’t know if the device will be more similar to the Galaxy Z Fold or Galaxy Z Flip, or if it even has a design that’s different from today’s foldable phones.
