NeNe Leakes reveals her husband is battling cancer again.
The former “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star shared “difficult” news about Gregg Leakes’ wellness journey during Instagram Live with The Jasmine Brand and said he recently underwent surgery.
“He’s in the hospital. he is in the hospital Tomorrow will be a week,” said 53-year-old Nene when asked about her husband’s health. “I’m sure he’ll be home in about a week or so. he needs surgery [because] His cancer has returned.”
Gregg was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2018, but went into remission after treatment.
“He had surgery before and he was in the hospital for about 1
5 days,” the ex-Bravolebrity explained of her husband’s treatment. and added that she expected him to be there for the same amount of time.NeNe said the cancer’s return was difficult for Gregg and the disease made him “very small”.
“If you’ve been around someone who has had cancer before. He will be different,” she said. “He is different.”
“I like that everyone prays for Greg. That would be very beautiful Praying for his strength,” Nene added. “And pray for me too.”
Both Gregg and NeNe took to Instagram in May 2019 to celebrate their cancer recovery.
“Look at God! We are so happy to say that we saw a doctor for the results of Gregg’s Pet Scan he did last week! Test show, wait…..we are cancer free!!! Yes, God!” she captioned Gregg.
Their battle with cancer has also affected their marriage. In 2019, the couple discussed divorce for the second time as well.
They first married in 1997 and divorced in 2011 before remarrying in 2013.
