Oakland athlete Jesus Lucard suffered a broken hand while playing a video game.



Oakland Athletics left-hander Jesus Lucardo was injured while playing a video game before the start of Saturday, manager Bob Melvin told reporters on Sunday.

Lucardo, who was defeated in an 8-4 defeat to Baltimore Orioles, hit the table while playing a game, said Melvin. Athletics officials said Luzardo was able to pitch, but X-ray showed a hairline crack in his little finger after the game.

Athletics put Luzardo on the injured list and recalled left-hander Adam Kolarek from another training facility.

Oakland will get first baseman Matt Olson back for Sunday’s starting lineup. Olson missed three games in a row after having a ball in his left eye ricocheted off the L screen during ball practice on Thursday.
