The Oregon Health Agency reported Monday reported one new death from COVID-19 and 540 coronavirus cases, with more cases being infected over the past week.
After a steady increase for more than a month, Oregon reported a 3% decrease in cases last week. But hospitalizations, which are the case examples, are still increasing.
The Kate Brown government, in an effort to delay hospital admissions, is ready to expand business restrictions this week for counties with the highest per capita rates. Washington County
Washington County has had nearly 210 cases per 100,000 residents in the past two weeks, according to state data, a statistic that moves into the category. The state’s largest Multnomah and Clackamas are now subject to the most stringent business restrictions.
Brown on Tuesday is expected to announce the county level. The restriction takes effect on Friday.

Who died: The 2,502 death of COVID-19 was a 70-year-old Douglas County woman who was tested positive on April 2 and died May 1 at Mercy Medical Center.
