Oregon Health Authority Reports Five New Deaths Related to COVID-19,678 New | News



Portland, OR (KPTV) – Oregon’s health agency reported five new deaths related to COVID-19 in the state on Thursday. The death toll is currently 2,439, the OHA is also announcing 678 new cases, bringing the total to 168,795.

The OHA identified 168 COVID-19 vaccine cases through April 2, including three deaths. Development cases refer to people who were infected with the virus after their vaccination was complete.

OHA health officials said it was a reminder that although Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-1

9 vaccines were highly effective in preventing severe COVID-19 morbidity and mortality, no vaccine was 100% effective. And there will be cases of vaccine development going on.

These cases were reported in 25 counties and regions with health care preparedness (region 1: 76; Region 2: 29; Region 3:27; Region 5: 9; Region 6: 4; Region 7:17; Region 9: 6). OHA did not report the region of death.

The number of COVID-19 hospitalizations across Oregon was 168, three times fewer than Wednesday.There were 38 COVID-19 patients in intensive care (ICU) beds.
