Qualcomm’s best mobile processor, the Snapdragon 888, got even stronger at MWC 2021 with the announcement of the Snapdragon 888 Plus. The upgraded version has an increased clock speed, bumping the Kryo 680 CPU from 2.84 GHz to 2.995 GHz (which Qualcomm rounded up to 3. GHz optimistic in marketing)
Additionally, the upgrade is Qualcomm’s 6th generation AI Engine, where the base Snapdragon 888 can perform 26 trillion operations per second (TOPS). For AI tasks, the 888 Plus is approximately 20 percent more powerful and capable. 32 TOPS

Mid-year top-tier chip refreshes aren’t new to Qualcomm, which has taken a similar approach to the Snapdragon 855 Plus and 865 Plus, each serving as a more powerful mid-range update to the standard 855 and 865 models. It was further refreshed in the 865 at the beginning of 2021 with the release of the Snapdragon 870, the Snapdragon 865 Plus-plus with further improvements and higher clock speeds.
It won’t be long before the Snapdragon 888 Plus starts appearing as well. Qualcomm says the first phones with the chip should be announced in Q3 2021. Honor has already said it will use the new chip, its flagship Magic. The upcoming 3, with Motorola, Vivo, Xiaomi and Asus also planning devices with Snapdragon 888 Plus, too.
