Returnal is getting its first major patch tomorrow, May 5, but before that happens, developer Housemarque is warning players to turn off automatic updates, one of the PS5’s convenience features, for the guys. He will not lose his progress. The patch is scheduled to be released at 12:00 noon PT / 3pm ET.
The studio issued a warning in a tweet telling players to turn off the feature and link to Sony’s support page for how. It makes sense if your PS5 is in pause mode when the update goes live, it will automatically exit the game to apply the patch. If you̵7;re in the middle of a drop, that progress will be gone.
To turn off automatic updates, you can visit Settings> Saved Data and Game / App Settings> Auto Update. You can toggle automatic downloads and auto installs when the console is in sleep mode.
The rest mode is one way that returning players can take a break from their runs, as the game doesn’t allow recording during their runs. That prompted some fans to request a studio patch in the recording feature, although some argued it. Contrary to the point of the game Either way, losing progress can slow you down considerably, and the game can get pretty long anyway.
