Another big name is moving in the James Harden trade. As Harden heads to the Brooklyn Nets, the Houston Rockets are buying Indiana’s Victor Oladipo, Paser reports athlete Shams Charania.
The Pacers will receive Caris LeVert and a second-round selection draft in return, according to reports.The Rockets received LeVert from the Nets, along with Dante Exum, Rodions Kurucs, four first-round picks and four first-round pick exchanges in a three-team deal. This included the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cleveland acquired Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince.
Oladipo, how will LeVert fit into the new role?
Oladipo will join John Wall as the focal point of the improved Rockets roster, who have now parted ways with Harden and Russell Westbrook since last season. After leaving the throne in Brooklyn, LeVert will likely play a featured role alongside Malcolm Brogdon and Domantas Sabonis in Indiana.
Oladipo, 28, has just returned from a torn quad tendon that has cost him the most in the past two seasons, the two-time All-Star, the 6-foot-4 warden, returned to play in a ligament bubble. BA last summer and has played nine of 11 games this season, averaging 20 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 42.1 percent off the field.
LeVert, 26, grew up in a limited time playing in Brooklyn and stepped up when asked to play a key role when Kevin Durant and Kylie Irving were busy 27.4 minutes later. Games this season, the 6-6 wing averaged 18.5 points, six assists and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 43.5 percent from the field. He revealed last season as a valuable role player in Brooklyn and promised to play a larger role with the Pacers moving forward.
