Premium devices tend to receive monthly updates at least for the first few years, with cadence slowing down to quarterly or yearly updates at the end of their service life. It’s one of the best support policies in the industry – definitely for Android, and very close to Apple’s general lengthy device support schedule.

As the S8 and S8 Plus end their support period, the S8 Active is still on schedule for quarterly updates and the S8 Lite is on track for two years.
