Scientists have recently discovered nearly 50 new galaxies.

You live on earth Earth is part of the planet-moon system, part of the larger solar system. The solar system revolves around a single star in the Milky Way. The Milky Way galaxy is home to at least 1

00 billion stars and possibly 400 billion stars … and is the only galaxy. In a new research, a team of astronomers has announced the discovery of 44 new galaxies, each containing countless stars, planets, moons, and you. Wait, it’s not you But was something else before that

The researchers used data from various sources to find previously undetected galaxies hiding in an area known as the Fornax Cluster. The Fornax Cluster is a cluster of galaxies located about 65 million light years from Earth and It is the discovery of large galaxies in the past. In this case, data from multiple expeditions and observational campaigns were used to reveal the existence of 44 new galaxies, but nothing like the Milky Way.

There are many types of galaxies in the universe. Our helix galaxies are just one type, and each galaxy variant comes in different sizes. These new galaxies are so-called UCDs, or ultra-compact dwarf galaxies. As their name suggests, these galaxies are very small and only about 200 light years in size. By comparison, the Milky Way is approximately 100,000 light years in diameter, or takes a few moments of life.

Because they are smaller, there are fewer stars as well. UCD is estimated to contain about 100 million stars, but again, that is only a rough estimate. These “little” galaxies are the latest discoveries for scientists by UCD. Classified less than two decades ago They’re also somewhat harder to spot than their slightly larger and more impressive counterparts, and that’s why they may be hidden in the data that have been studied.

After eliminating the available data, the research team had 220 potential UCD candidates. That’s a lot, so the scientists decided to focus on the UCD probable object. New galaxies that have not yet been recorded and are located near the edge of a large star cluster. The researchers say the new galaxy is 1,170 light-years away from the cluster’s core, which could make it harder to see in previous research efforts.

“With Fornax Deep Survey imagery combined with near-infrared public data, we will systematically examine the UCD population of the Fornax cluster and systematically locate UCD candidates out to the radius of cluster galaxies,” said the researchers. explain

At a distance of about 65 million light years from Earth, we can just know that these galaxies exist are impressive. Unfortunately, it will take some time before we have the technology to learn more about them or what they have.
