SpaceX crew bounced back to Earth after saving the mission

The four astronauts aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule returned to Earth by jumping into a parachute that landed in the Gulf of Mexico after a record-setting mission at the International Space Station. The astronauts spent more than five months in space, the longest ever for the crew to launch an American-built spacecraft.

7;s Mike Hopkins and Victor Glover and Japan’s Soichi Noguchi arrived at the space station via the Dragon capsule last November.

After taking off from the space station at 8:35 p.m. Saturday, the astronauts traveled through the atmosphere and touched down the Gulf of Mexico with a parachute at about 2:57 p.m. ET on Sunday.
