A fighter jet was called into an El Al plane over Greece on Friday after a mid-flight bomb threat was reported, according to television reports.
Flight LY02 took off for Tel Aviv from New York on Thursday afternoon. After taking off, US authorities received a call warning that there was a bomb on the plane, Channel 12 reported Saturday.
“I’m telling you there was a bomb on the plane,” said the caller.

Although the warning is considered suspicious. But pilots, Israeli security agencies and countries with airspace on the flight path have been alerted.
Then the plane was accompanied by a fighter after entering the Greek airspace. Reports said the jet was still miles away and passengers remained unaware of the incident. It did not specify whether the jet was from the Greek Army or the Israeli Air Force.
After landing at Ben-Gurion airport, the plane was searched and the security personnel received an update on this issue. It looks like a false alarm, ”the official told Channel 12.
