ABC and “The Goldbergs” paid tribute to the late actor George Segal on Wednesday after airing his final episode on the hit sitcom.
Segal’s wife, Sonia, confirmed he died in March due to complications from bypass surgery. He had already filmed the episode, which aired on April 7, but no one knew it would be his last time at the time. The video posted to Twitter concludes with a simple message that the cast and crew of the sitcom will miss the grandpa on their screens. After the conclusion of this episode, Wendi McLendon-Covey. Who plays the matriarch of the Goldberg family and Pops’ on-screen daughter, paid tribute to the late Segal on Twitter.
“Tonight was the last episode that George filmed. But it’s not the last part of the season, we didn’t know we’d be filming this last time, ”she tweeted.
The star added: “We have a lot of fun filming right now and George is always playing games with everything, being professional and happy to be around!”
