Universal Studios Japan has announced that Super Nintendo World will not open next month, according to plans. The Osaka Park Nintendo-themed zone is expected to open on February 4th after a delayed launch from last year. But with Osaka being under an emergency declaration yesterday through at least February 7, it will not happen anymore, the USJ said it would announce a new opening day when the emergency has been lifted.
Initially, a state of emergency was issued in Japan for Tokyo and the surrounding areas. But yesterday it was extended to cover all 11 prefectures, including Osaka. Countermeasures are not particularly severe compared to COVID-19 blocking restrictions elsewhere, people are not encouraged by unnecessary off-road travel, and establishments such as restaurants and movie theaters are asked to. Closed earlier in the evening – but apparently not yet. The ideal time to open an amusement park
Super Nintendo World is a flagship project for Nintendo, representing the most ambitious effort to expand the IP to new business opportunities. The park is slated to open early for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Which is still in great doubt When it finally opens, it has attractions like AR-powered Mario Kart Roller coaster.
