Technology startup Nothing will announce its first pair of True Wireless Earbuds (1) at 9 a.m. ET on July 27, company founder Carl Pei announced today. The release came about a month later than the June launch window. Nothing was announced before, after Pei tweeted that the company was delaying its launch due to a “Something left to get done,” Carl Pei is best known for being one of the co-founders of OnePlus, the company he split up last year.
Details on Nothing Ear (1) are thin, but the company has released several details about them in the past few months. we know they will have “Naked aesthetics” with transparent materials in its construction. And they were designed in collaboration with Teenage Engineering, but nothing that comes close to the technical specifications of the headphones.
Wireless headphones are the first product category with nothing to deal with, but Carl Pei has talked about moving to other areas over time. In an interview with The Verge In January, Pei said the company hopes to eventually build an entire ecosystem of connected devices. Pei said, “The ultimate vision of having everything connected seamlessly. This can only happen if you have multiple products.”
