The Eagles reached a $ 6 million one-year deal with free agent liberator Archie Bradley, sources confirmed. The deal is actually under consideration.
Right-hander Bradley, 28, started his career as a starter with the Diamondbacks in 2015 before coming to a set-up in 2017.He did well at the back end of the Arizona start up to the deadline. Trade in 2020, when he was dealt with the Reds and hit a 1.17 ERA in the final month, Phillies’ new pitching coach Caleb Cotham is from Cincinnati.
Bradley has an ERA 2.95 in 221 appearances in four seasons, most of them set-up. He also recorded 18 games for the Diamondbacks in 2019 when forced to take on duty after Greg Holland̵7;s fight.
Bradley’s fastball averaged 94.4 mph over the past season. In the past, he was a fast, four-seam ball and a curved ball with Singer and some variation mixed in.
He is the third Liberator the Phillies has added since the last week of December. New president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski.The first two trades belong to left-hander Jose Alvarado of the Rays and Giants right-hander Sam Coonrod.
