A May 2021 security update or patch has started rolling out for a number of Samsung devices including the favorite Galaxy S21 and others.
As we’ve seen before with older patches, the May security patch hasn’t technically been released yet, although Samsung has begun rolling it out on some smartphones. The release of updates to Pixel smartphones on the first Monday of every month this month will be May 3rd.
Samsung security update May 2021 – what’s new.
Not every monthly patch adds new features. But there are often many tweaks and enhancements available for the existing Samsung smartphones to taste. Previous patches added camera features and functions that are usually not announced in advance.
SamMobile The May patch reportedly improved camera performance and even the Quick Share feature.For those using the Galaxy S21, these are probably the two most notable changes. But may have additional features for specific hardware.
Devices with Samsung security updates May 2021
Which devices will get the May 2021 update from Samsung? The monthly updated list of devices at the moment is quite heavy and even on April 27 some have been updated. You can see the updated devices in the list below.
The list below is being updated as new launches begin or expand to new regions and carriers. New additions are marked in bold.
Galaxy S series
As you know, Samsung’s top-end flagship lineup is the Galaxy S Series.These were among the first devices to be updated in May 2021, with launch starting with the Samsung Galaxy. S21 Ultra on April 26 As one of the best Android devices you can buy, it’s nice to know it’s the first Samsung smartphone to receive the May 2021 security patch, however. It is currently limited to those in Germany only.
The former Galaxy S20 series flagship – S20, S20 + and S20 Ultra – received a security update in May 2021, shortly after the last S21 series.This brings camera improvements and Quick tweaks. Share to all three devices as well. This launch has started in Germany, so many more regions are expected to see the patch arriving soon.

Galaxy Note series
While it’s easy to argue that the Galaxy S series is Samsung’s flagship model, no doubt some people point to the Galaxy Note family line for “true” flagship hardware and specifications. Usually released months after the S Series launched, the Galaxy Note line is aimed at giving Android users the best performing device with a stylus.
The May 2021 security update kicked off for the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series on April 28, starting in Germany before going out to additional European countries:

Galaxy Z Series and foldable
While the S Series is the most popular, the Galaxy Z Series offers a wide variety of folding screens with flexible displays that are based on various form factors. The May 2021 security update has dropped for the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, with more Samsung foldable likely to follow in the coming days and weeks.

Galaxy A series
Targeted at the affordable market, the mid-range Galaxy A series has been one of Samsung’s most popular in history. Take advantage of some high-end hardware and with all the great software found in the One UI, the first to receive the security update in May 2021 is the Galaxy A51, which actually went live in Eastern Europe last day.
