The Wu-Tang Clan was issuing a limited number of photo books. Wu-Tang Clan: LegacyThe large photographic book contains more than 300 pages and is housed in a 400 pound engraving room.
“From conception to present, this is the undisputed story of the greatest hip-hop group of all time, revealed through rare and never-seen photographs,” said John “Mook” Gibbons, CEO of “Mook” Gibbons. Wu-Tang Clan Management said in a statement.
According to the book’s official website, only 36 copies are produced, each with a signature, date and number, and a certificate of authenticity. The book features images from renowned photographers such as Danny Hastings, ProTim Photo, Kyle Christie and Andy Cantillon, as well as images taken by the band̵7;s family and friends.
Each book will be printed and bound in leather in Italy and will be encased in a black bronze-clad steel chamber designed by sculptor Gethin Jones.The design is inspired by the bronze bowls of the Zhou Dynasty. Antiquity is considered the pinnacle of Chinese bronze handicrafts, and the first ruler is King Wu-Wang.
