The 30-year-old “person of interest” was detained in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains on Saturday after three children were found stabbed to death in an apartment in Los Angeles, police said.
The Los Angeles Police Department said Liliana Carrillo was detained in Ponderosa, California, more than 200 miles from Los Angeles.
The gruesome discovery of the three child victims was made by their grandmother around 9:30 a.m. in Reseda’s San Fernando Valley neighborhood, LAPD Sgt David Bambrick told NBC Los Angeles.
All the victims were under 5 years old, according to police they wanted to question Carrillo.
Minutes after naming Carrillo a “Person of Interest,”; the LAPD said she had stolen a car near Bakersfield, Calif., And possibly drove a stolen silver Toyota pickup.
