Insomniac Games’ reign at the top of the UK physical sales charts has come to an end. Mario Golf: Super Rush: The first tee pushed Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart into third place. The PlayStation 5 Exclusive spent two weeks at its peak. But the 78 percent drop in sales is in line with the usual buying pattern that games get older as they get older. Keep in mind that lombax actually increased its sales in the second week of its availability. This is largely due to hardware bundles and word-of-mouth.
The other new entry this week is Scarlet Nexus, which debuted in eighth place. Bestseller on PlayStation, with PS5 accounting for 58 percent of sales and PS4 up 21
percent. That’s nearly four of the five copies sold as versions for the Sony platform. The rest of the top 10 makes up the usual reading: exclusive games. The Nintendo Switch’s are outstanding, and titles like FIFA 21 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla fill the gap.Interestingly, Cyberpunk 2077 saw a 374% sales increase and is ranked 22nd. The return of the RPG to the PS Store will not result in increased purchases as these stats only track physical items. But perhaps the talk of its return will affect the general attitude.
