LONDON – UK to deliver vaccination, surge protection and testing in an area where India’s first new strain of COVID-19 is detected in India.
Vaccination Minister Nadhim Zahawi told BBC TV on Friday the government would “flexible” vaccination programs to assign additional doses to the most affected areas, while a second dose could be put forward.
In a statement late Thursday, the UK Department of Health and Social Care announced that a team of 100 nurses, public health advisors and environmental health workers will be transported to Bolton, a suburb of Manchester where: The B1.617.2 variable is spreading rapidly.
“While there is no strong evidence to suggest that this variant has a greater impact on disease severity or vaccine avoidance, it is still not clear that this variant has an effect on disease severity or avoidance of vaccines. But the speed of growth is concerned, and the government is considering further action if it deems necessary – including how to make the most of the vaccine roll – out to protect the most vulnerable in the context of current epidemiology. “The department said in a statement.
Additionally, the surge testing will be expanded to other areas across the country with increased genome sequencing and increased exposure tracking.
Data on the new pattern released Thursday by Public Health England showed that the number of cases across the UK rose from 520 last week to 1,313 this week, with most of the patients concentrated in the West. North of England and few groups in London.
New restrictions that “cannot be rule out”.
The UK vaccine launch is one of the fastest in the world, with nearly 70% of the adult population receiving at least one dose so far. The vaccine is currently available to anyone over the age of 38, but the government says it can be available to younger people living in multiple generations of households.
The next step of leaving the UK will be scheduled on Monday, which will once again feature indoor gatherings, hospitality and entertainment.
However, Health and Social Care Minister Matt Hancock said in a statement on Thursday the government was “Monitor the situation carefully and do not hesitate to take further action if necessary.”
In addition to the specialist facilities in Bolton, surge tests have already been deployed in 15 locations across the UK, with more than 800,000 tests distributed.
“As stated in the program, we cannot rule out local or regional socio-economic constraints if evidence suggests the presence or suppression of vaccine escape variables,” said the DHSC.
